Wurde hier jemand von Dr. Andreas Schmitz operiert? I had my surgery in Calgary, Canada.

Helfen die Beruhigungsmittel vor der OP gegen die Angst? I can't deny being very nervous before surgery but have used meditation and deep breathing for anxiety and pain management. I did not take any sedatives prior to surgery and walked myself into the operating room. There the anesthetist put an IV into my hand and several minutes later the put me under.

Wie war der Wundschmerz am Schnitt? I was not taking any narcotics prior to surgery and have a relatively high pain tolerance. The nurses easily managed my pain immediately post surgery, first with a dose of fentanyl via IV. Day one I took 2 oxicodone and days 2-5 used Tremadol. I could feel pinching around the incision when I first started walking but I would not call it overly painful.

Tut das Ziehen des Wundschlauchs und des Katheders web? I did not have a catheter or drainage tube but understand that pulling them can be painful but is very quick (a couple seconds). Pulling the IV tube was again a bit pinchy but not really painful. When I refer to something as painful I think of stubbing a toe hard or accidentally hitting your finger or cutting yourself with a knife.

Mussten Fäden gezogen werden oder benutzt man selbstaufloesende? I had self dissolving stitches. Small horizontal incision about 3 inches long about 4 inches below belly button.

Tut beim ersten Laufen danach der Bauchschnitt weh oder auch zum Teil der Rücken? Yes, walking for the first few days is uncomfortable and pinchy around the incision. My back did not hurt nearly as much compared to pre surgery. I got tired easily for the first few days and spent most of the time laying down with several short walks throughout the day.

Man sollte ja zunächst nicht sitzen, aber wie kommt man aus dem KH nachhause? I took an Oxicodone 30 minutes before driving home. Reclined my seat back and braced myself with my arms a bit. Suggest you have a couple pillows to get comfortable.

Darf man auf der Seite oder dem Bauch schlafen bzw. ab wann? I slept on either my back or my side first 14 days. I have slept on my stomachs once or twice but it is not yet quite comfortable.

Since you are concerned about pain, I would strongly suggest some meditation and/or breathing exercises to help you relax. The more you can relax the less pain you will feel. Any time you get an injection or an IV started the more you are able to relax your arm the less pain. When you tense up pain increases. Unless you are currently on significant narcotics now, the doctor/nurses should be able to manage your pain post op.

When I think of the past 2 weeks, what bothered me the most is something called "distraction" or nerve pain. After 2 or 3 days this intense ache set in in my butt and then moved into my thighs. After a few more days it moved into my calves. This mostly bothers me in the evening when I want to go to sleep. I finally took a Fexeril to help with sleep. Fortunately this type of pain is expected to go away within a couple of weeks. Everyone seems to have a slightly different experience with distraction pain.

Bist du jetzt operiert? Wie lief alles? Bist du zufrieden? Ich muss mich noch zwischen einer M6 oder einer Titanprothese entscheiden, weil es zwei verschiedene Spezialisten sind und jeder auf seine Prothese schwört. Ich lasse mir zwei einsetzen. L4/5 und L5/S1. Ich habe kein Bock mehr auf die Schmerzen besonders auf die verhärtete Muskulatur im BW Bereich.
